YAHUKIMO - The Task Forces of the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS) HABEMA in Papua, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Yahukimo Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Wednesday, 7 August 2024, the Marines Task Forces conducted a Patrol to secure the area by visiting and greeting residents in the Kuaserama Village, Dekai District.
Commander of the Marines Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, left a message to the Soldiers from Bravo Post led by Second Lieutenant Alter, who would conduct the patrol on Wednesday. The message was that every Soldier should use their assignment for positive things, not just tend to do it as a routine. The message was immediately answered with the initiative and creativity of the Marine Soldiers in conducting the patrol by performing Social Communication and distributing free clothes to the children they met along the patrol route.
While maintaining the security aspect of the Patrol, the Soldiers extended a warm invitation to the residents they met, fostering a sense of community. The Kuaserama residents, particularly the children and their parents, were overjoyed at the distribution of free clothes. Feeling like they were being treated as close relatives, a Papuan mother, Ria Otimuka, expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Marines. God bless TNI".
After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, said, "The creativity of the Marines Task Forces through Patrol by conducting Komsos in the Kuaserama Village is TNI effort to carry out inclusive Komsos to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region."
